Consonance Therapy International Association

The Consonance Therapy International Association (CTIA) is an independent, international organization that brings together professionals to develop and promote the Consonance Therapy method. The Association was established for the purpose of carrying out educational and professional activities, as well as implementing and maintaining elevated standards of quality in the provision of psychological and psychotherapeutic support.

The Association’s Mission, Aims, and Objectives

The mission of the Consonance Therapy International Association is to ensure that psychotherapy is recognized as a truly effective tool capable of addressing the challenges of the modern world. The objective is to effect a paradigm shift within the industry, transitioning from a “process for process’ sake” model to one that is meticulously focused on addressing the unique needs of each client.

The Association endeavors to establish clear criteria and standards for the effectiveness of psychotherapeutic services, ensuring measurable and high-quality outcomes. It is undeniable that modern day people live in a world of information excess, profound transformations, and unparalleled levels of stress, all of which necessitate immediate adaptation. The Consonance Therapy method is an innovative system that offers effective solutions to these challenges, enabling psychotherapy to keep pace with the times and serve people’s interests effectively in a rapidly changing world.

The objectives of the Association are as follows:

The development of the scientific foundation is an essential component of the research. The Consonance Therapy method is characterized by two fundamental tenets: continuous improvement and expansion of the theoretical framework and clinical practice.
Ethics and professionalism are considered integral components of this approach. The development and promotion of high ethical standards and professional integrity among therapists is of paramount importance.
Training and certification: The accreditation of Consonance Therapy training programs at centers that have been recommended by the Association of Professional Communities is a subject of interest.
The establishment of a professional community of Consonance therapists, along with the creation of conditions conducive to their continuous professional development, is of paramount importance.
The promotion of mental healthcare based on the scientifically proven effectiveness of the Consonance Therapy method is essential.
The pursuit of international standards is crucial, with the objective of establishing a global Consonance Therapy standard in accordance with the guidelines of the Consonance Therapy Institute.
An innovative method of psychotherapy

The distinguishing characteristics of Consonance Therapy

that qualify it as an innovative method of psychotherapy are as follows:

Consonance Therapy is an innovative method of psychotherapy that, for the first time, offers a system for restoring a mindful, healthy personality. The system has been developed to enable a single therapist, in a single location, to work with issues of any degree of complexity, with every type of trauma, and with the personality at all levels of perception: cognitive, imagery-based, physical, and emotional simultaneously.

The structure, which forms the backbone and foundation of the system, enables the therapist to consciously guide the therapeutic process from the first session to its conclusion, knowing precisely what they are doing, when and why at every stage. The system provides objective criteria that the therapist and client can utilize to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment at each stage. The combination of these elements ensures a predictable resolution of the client’s problem within an optimal timeframe.

A holistic system consists of five interdependent elements: concept, goal, structure, resource optimization strategies, and objective criteria for effectiveness. These elements enable the therapist to manage the therapeutic process and the client to resolve their problem.
A unique personality structure is adapted within the body for the first time, which accelerates not only the elimination of the causes of personality disorder but also the transfer of therapeutic achievements into the client’s real life.
Original algorithms for locating and deactivating the core of trauma, along with protocols for working with the main types of trauma and personality parts, make the work at every stage effective, precise, and controllable.

When considered as a whole, these elements contribute to a profound, precise, and comprehensive therapeutic impact, ensuring the predictability of problem resolution and the durability of the resulting changes. Employing this approach enables a substantial reduction in the duration of therapy while preserving its quality and ensuring enduring change for the client. Additionally, it safeguards the therapist from emotional and professional burnout. This is of particular importance for contemporary individuals who are living in conditions of elevated stress and accelerated transformation.

The author of the Consonance Therapy method – Svitlana Lipinska

The Consonance Therapy method is the result of over 30 years of practical research and experience by Svetlana Lipinskaya, a Master of Psychology, certified trauma therapist, dance-movement and body-oriented psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer.

She has been working in psychology since 1994 and has had teaching experience since 1985. She has been training psychotherapists since 2006, and since 2020 has focused exclusively on the Consonance Therapy method. In her search for a holistic system, she has mastered eleven methods from various disciplines: eight body-oriented approaches, two verbal approaches to working with personality and trauma (Schema Therapy, EMDR) and one creative method. She has delivered over 1,500 training courses, seminars and masterclasses, attended by more than 25,000 people. Over 1,000 clients have undergone individual therapy.

Author of six books. Expert in the field of body psychology and psychotrauma. Co-founder of the Consonance Therapy Institute. President of the Consonance Therapy International Association. Structure of the Association

iThe structure is defined by the Articles of Association and consists of four bodies:

The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the Association. It determines the main directions of the Association’s activities and development, adopts resolutions on amendments to the Bylaws, elects and dismisses members of the Board, the Audit Commission, and the Ethics Commission, and reviews and approves their activity reports.
The Board is the Association’s highest governing body between General Meetings and oversees all of its activities. It represents the Association, admits members and maintains the membership registry, approves plans and the budget, and manages the Association’s assets. The Board maintains lists of accredited specialists and training centers, establishes rules for issuing certificates for therapists, supervisors, and trainers, sets membership fees, and approves projects that contribute to the development of the method and the Association.
The Audit Committee is the Association’s supervisory body. It conducts an audit of statutory activities at least once a year, with particular attention to financial management. It presents reports to the General Assembly and submits a proposal to grant discharge to the outgoing Board.
The Ethics Committee is an advisory body established to monitor compliance with ethical standards. It reviews cases involving members’ non-compliance with general ethical principles, the Bylaws, and the Code of Ethics, and also addresses cases concerning professional ethics in the work of Consonance therapists.
